More Details on Highway 1 Closure

The traffic division of the police department came out with a statement today to remind all about the closure of Highway 1 on January 19th.

  • On January 19th, 2017 (Thursday) a portion of Highway 1 will be closed for construction. This area will be closed to vehicular traffic in both directions until Jan 10, 2017 (Friday) at 10:00.
  • The area that will be closed will be coming from the west  – between Sakharov interchange and Hemed interchange. Coming from the east – between Shaar Hagai and Sakharov interchange.
  • This also includes:
    • No cars will be allowed from Route 3 from Latrun interchange to Highway 1 going eastbound.
    • No cars will be allowed from Route 38 to go on to Highway 1 from Shaar Hagay  going eastbound.
    • No cars will be allowed from Route 3955 to go on Highway 1 going eastbound.
  • Some alternate routes include:
    • If you need to go on Highway 1 traveling east, it is recommended to go on Route 443.
    • If you need to go on Route 431 traveling east, it is recommended to go on though Modiin and then take Route 443
    • If you need to go on Route 3 traveling east, it is recommended to go on though Modiin and then take Route 443
    • If you need to go on Route 38 traveling east, it is recommended to go Route 395 to the the turn to Ramat Raziel until Ein Kerem or take 375 until Tzur Hadasah until Jerusalem.
  • During night work hours drivers are asked to avoid driving  until the barricade.
  • The barricade will be marked on Waze.
